Capsize Righting Lines

To assist in the righting of your now capsized ISO, you require a rope to hold so you can lean back to give extra leaverage. With the idea below, you won't have to lean over the top of the boat to get a rope to use as a righting line. This way, the line is already for you to grab, and as an added bonus, makes you much more stable standing on the board than with a single rope.

1. Firstly, thread one end of a thin piece of spectra (2.5mm), up through the front hole, which is used to secure the wings, and tie a stopper knot. Thick rope holds water and causes excessive drag when in the water. Thin rope doesn't hurt your hands - You wusses!
2. Run the remainder of the rope down the length of the boat to the other hole in the gunwale at the back of the boat.

3. Thread the rope up through the hole.

6. The elastic for the toe straps is run as follows:
a. One end is attached to the righting line.
b. Then threaded through the bullseye.
c. Through the toestrap.
d. Round the back of the rudder post.
e. Through the other toestrap.
f. Up through the other bullseye.
g. The other end then attaches to the other righting line on the other side of the boat.
7. When the rope is pulled, it will only stretch the elastic as far as the stopper knot will allow it (the eye in the corner of the gunwale).
