ISO Gala - King George SC (28th & 29th September 2002)

13 ISO's arrived at King George reservoir, North London, for two days of racing which was immaculately organised by the Race Officer and shore team.

Recent class training events are clearly paying dividends with several new faces, from as far afield as Wales and Northumbria, upsetting the established order.

Racing on Saturday was postponed for an hour due to lack of wind and eventually got under way with two of the scheduled races held. Racing was close throughout the fleet with both Pete Lindley & Jonny Backhouse in Team RWO and Ross Ashton & Chris Burgh in 822 posting a race win each. Further down the order Ian & Katie Keam-George in 1188 and Jonathan Wells with crew Bugsy in 1176 were tied on points for third place. Newly elected class chairman, Bob Ladell showed and an excellent turn of speed just missing out on the closing stages of each race.

Sunday started in fine weather but little wind which gradually filled in as the day progressed. Four closely contested races were held with Team RWO dominating by
posting 3 race wins. Ross Ashton consolidated second position with some consistent sailing which included a race win in race 4. Third place was wrapped up by Johnathan Wells from Ian & Katie Keam-George in fourth.

Close but fair racing characterised this event which was a credit to those on and off the water.
