Mainsheet

Whilst walking round the boat park, we noticed this innovative way of tying the mainsheet to the block at the top of the strops.

The top set of pics show the standard way to tie the mainsheet to the block. Notice there isn't the usual bowline in there, just an overhand knot. All these ideas allow the boom to be pulled in closer to the center line of the boat.

Keep the mainsheet in the boat.

I personally don't tie the mainsheet in the boat, however I am quite a tidy person in the boat so usually I don't catch many fish whilst sailing.
