ISO Open - Glossop & District SC (6th & 7th October 2001)

The weekend starting the 6th of October saw 12 ISO's at Glossop SC. Strong gusty conditions and huge wind shifts over the weekend caused everyone to go over at least once.

Team RWO, Pete Lindley & Jonny Backhouse won the first race convincingly followed by newcomers to the circuit Alan Castleton & Chris Chatterton, then Ian and Katie Keam-George. There were 4 RTD's in this race proving how tricky the conditions were.

ISO Gala - Weston SC (21st & 22nd July 2001)

The weekend of 21st and 22nd of July saw the Bank of Scotland sponsored topper multi gala took place at Weston S.C. with gusty force 2 - 5 conditions making racing interesting and tactical. The ISO fleet got underway with 1013 RWO Pete Lindley and Jonny Blackhouse winning ahead of 1188 Vehicle Inigma Systems, Ian and Katie Keam - George followed by 1196 Flying Banana in a uncustomary third after a months break from sailing the ISO.

ISO Gala - Eastbourne Sovereign SC (16th & 17th June 2001)

Bank of Scotland ISO Gala, Eastbourne, June 16/17 The Bank of Scotland-sponsored ISO open was held on the June 16th/17th at Eastbourne Sovereign S.C. A force 5 southerly whipped up an impressive shore-break, making launching difficult. The shore-break proved just that for two boats, one of which broke a mast and the other bent a rudder as the breakers slammed the boats onto the shore.

ISO Inlands / Gala - Datchet Water SC (13th & 14th October 2001)

Datchet water hosted the ISO Inland Championships tied in with the final round of the Bank of Scotland Multi-Gala series on the 13th and 14th of October.

Saturday morning began with no wind and light haze which resulted in a postponement of the first race for an hour or so. The fleet seemed eager to go afloat even whilst the postponement was posted, and did so. The race officer took this as a very large hint, and brought the postponement down shortly after.

ISO Nationals - Thorpe Bay YC ( May 2001)

ISO Nationals at Thorpe Bay YC The Whitsun Bank Holiday at Southend saw 24 ISOs entering for the 3-day event joint ISO/Buzz National Championships, sponsored by the Bank of Scotland. The racing event was a successful 8-race series with one discard. Late high tides dictated afternoon racing throughout the weekend and the Race Committee did a tremendous job in organising back-to-back windward/leeward courses for two fleets in a range of wind behaviours, managing to get everyone round the course at least three times per race and still get back "in time for tea"!

ISO International Regatta (27th - 30th August 2001)

The week beginning on the 27th of August saw the ISO International Championship held at Carnac in France with 18 ISOs making it to the start line. Before the championships, the practice race was dominated from start to finish by 1019 Charles Chandler and Adam Savage, followed by the U.K national champion Andrew Gould who was sailing with a new crew Michael "Son of Yoram" Frogley, due to Andrew's regular crew Vicky Lewis being ill.

ISO Training Weekend - King George SC (1st & 2nd December 2001)

Saturday morning was wet, very wet, with a good breeze helping it along. Three of the four ISO crews who had booked for the weekend lined up for the traditional bacon butties. Pete and Johnny soon sniffed out the butties and coffee - try keeping them away!!
