ISO Gala - Datchet Water SC (9th & 10th April)

Back in the fray !

The 2005 ISO season got off to a flying start at DWSC last weekend with all three races being sailed in a very gusty F4 pushing F5. Team RWO, bolstered by the return of Alistair Clarke, took the first two races from Neil Pryde, Yellow Peril and Moss / Berriman in 1207. Team Perry put in a 4th but then retired due a motoring injury. The third race saw 1207 push Neil Pryde and Yellow Peril to 2nd and 3rd with Team RWO trailing 4th. The day saw most of those who did venture out stay the course leaving a few spectators to look on from their van!

Sunday moderated to provide a good F4 dropping away to a F2 to 3 as the day progressed, bringing out the rest of the fleet into the sunshine. Our Am partners Lloyd Walker and Graham Sexton upset the leader board in fine style by winning the first two races and making 3rd in the last race; nothing we said, honest ! An inspired blast across the course saw us come through from last to 2nd on our own personal gust in one easy move in race 4, only to fall away to 5th on the beat. Good while it lasted.

All credit to Datchet newcomers Eamonn and Angus and their crews for giving the quite difficult conditions a try and taking part.

Our thanks to our DWSC hosts as well as RWO for the Pro-Am prizes that make a huge difference to helping everyone get to know each other.
